Redgum Medical Group is close to home, but far from ordinary.
Built on community values, our aim to provide extraordinary care to you and your family is met with a personal touch.
Not only are we concerned with preventing, diagnosing and treating diseases - but ensuring you feel supported and have everything you need in place to manage your health.
If you live in the cross-border region of Corowa, Rutherglen, and Howlong you have access to quality care at Redgum Medical Group.
As locals ourselves, we are committed to responding to your needs. Redgum is proud to provide services such as the Antenatal Clinic, Script Clinic and Flu Clinic.
Redgum Medical Group is an accredited teaching practice and participates in the Australian General Practice Training Program.
Being involved in the teaching of Medical Students and post-graduate (General Practice [GP] Registrar) education is an important aspect of the practice. GP Registrars are fully qualified Doctors who have decided to pursue a rewarding career in General Practice. These Doctors join GP training in our region and develop their skills and knowledge through support and mentoring by our experienced GP supervisors.
Obtaining the services of high-quality registrars means we are able to enhance the quality of service we offer you.
Redgum Medical Group (previously Corowa Medical Centre) has been serving the region for over 100 years.
The centre was founded in 1910 by Dr Barnard, and later joined by Dr Fairley.
In 1964, two became three, with the practice growing to also welcome Dr Rodney Barkman.
The ‘Corowa Medical Centre’ was purpose built in 1976 and the Redgum Medical Group’s Corowa practice still stands in same location today.
Two years later, in 1978, Dr Ross Wilson moved into these rooms with Dr Barkman.
Expanding into our bordering state, June 1999 saw the Rutherglen branch open at the old Courthouse Building.
In March 2005, the Rutherglen practice was relocated to a purpose-built building that it shares with Glenview Community Health Service.
Diversifying, the Redgum Skin Clinic was built in late 2021, offering a specialised service in the heart of Corowa.
Over the decades a number of major renovations have been carried out, expanding the practice and increasing the range of health services on offer.
To reflect the continued growth, the practice was rebranded to better represent the wider community we care for.
Stepping out in mid 2022 a with new look, under a new name – Redgum Medical Group.
